Brush Lettering for Beginners Workshop with Kirsty
The second Introduction to Brush Lettering at Marmadukes The Sorting Office! Treat yourself or favourite human to a calming workshop to break up your week! Join us for drinks, cake, and an evening of learning how to use specialist brush pens to create your own lettering style. Don’t worry about being a pro just yet, we’ll take you through the very first steps!
Kirsty will take you through the basics of brush lettering, sharing her tips and tricks to creating beautiful calligraphy-style lettering. You’ll be taught specific ‘drill’ practise, be shown how to use different types of brush pen and will be provided with a calligraphic alphabet to practise at home.
All materials you’ll need are included in the price of each ticket; this includes materials for the class, a glass of fizz or alcohol free prosecco, and some brilliant cake/nibbles; as well as a booklet for you to take home.
Kirsty, one of our very own staff members, is a recent graduate with a degree in Fashion Design and a master’s degree in Illustration. She has worked as a Menswear Designer for Vivienne Westwood, and costume designer for multiple film productions, and is now branching out into graphic design and illustration. As a freelance designer, she works with various businesses/festivals doing sign writing, murals, and various graphic design projects. As well as working with us, she is developing her own creative business centred around raising awareness for Dermatillomania.
